Autumn Blaze Maple
Acer x freemannii ‘Jeffersred’
50 feet high x 35 feet wide
It was named urban tree of the year in 2003! Autumn Blaze is a cross between red and silver maple that tolerates our alkaline conditions. Its standout feature is the wonderful autumn color of orange to red. This tree has excellent branching and strong wood (won’t break apart in our wind). Excellent growth rate for this shade tree. Water requirements are similar to a bluegrass lawn. Can be used as a specimen tree or planted in clusters.
