A large native shrub that produces abundant black edible fruit—perfect for jelly-making, but be quick, the birds also love them! With some structural pruning it can be turned into a beautiful tree with glossy green leaves. In May, expect fragrant white flowers to cover the entire plant. Being native it can handle poor soils and exposed sites. Great for a naturalized area, windbreaks or an edible landscape.
